See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.

Beware: the pub claims to offer Proper Job but this comes through a 'beer wall' and is reported as decidedly gassy (i.e. under top pressure). The former two-roomed pub has recently undergone much internal refurbishment, re-emerging as an eating and drinking house with strong emphasis on the former. On the fringe of the city centre up a steep hill and opposite the Lander monument, it has an L-shaped copper-topped bar on pavement level. Down a few steps is the separate restaurant area, which has original tiles on the floor. The décor is completed with interesting lighting, pictures and reliefs on the walls, and a stag's head. Falmouth/Helston direction buses stop opposite; other services are from the bus station (10 min walk down the hill). Beer is pretty expensive.
