Royal Cornwall Show

Kernow CAMRA joined Cornwall Brewer’s Alliance at the Royal Cornwall Show on 9th - 11th June 2016.

This was the first year that Kernow CAMRA had the opportunity to go to the Royal Cornwall Show and are very grateful to the seven breweries that gave us space on the stand.

We were on stand 62 with Atlantic Brewery, Black Flag Brewery, Castle Brewery, Driftwood Spas Brewery, Keltek Brewery, Penpont/Firebrand Brewery and Rebel Brewing Company. The stand was set up with a bar to give away samples, stillage holding barrels of beer and lots of different bottles of beer. On our tables we had lots of issues of One and Ale, Kernow CAMRA tote bags, Kernow CAMRA hats and lots of other information regarding our campaign.

The stand was worked by volunteers who talked to the show goes about CAMRA and Cornwall Brewers Alliance. Lots of passers-by showed great interest in our campaign and took away application forms to read at their own leisure. The Cornish Breweries were giving away free samples of Cornish beer and lots of people were very happy to try some.

The event proved to be a great campaigning success with 20 new members signing up to join CAMRA. A big thank you has to go to all the volunteers for all the hard work they put in setting up and the stand and working the show.

We were also given the pleasure of being joined by Catseye Morris and Dartmoor Morris Dancers who danced lots of routines in front of the stand on Saturday afternoon. Thank you to all the dancers for coming to the stand and we hope you enjoyed the beer.

Plans are already in place to look at future events to continue our campaign and of course looking forward to next year at the Royal Cornwall Show.
