See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.

This 14th-century inn at the top of the town is converted from an old farmhouse and mill mentioned in the Domesday Book; there is still a fine overshot waterwheel next to the pub. Inside, the inn is comfortably divided into three distinct areas on separate levels, with slate flagstone floors and low beamed ceilings. Outside is a pleasant large patio/garden area facing south, with seating and large parasols for use in the summer. The pub serves home-made dishes, including locally caught fish which is normally available throughout the year. Buses to Looe, Polruan, Liskeard and Plymouth turn round just across from the pub. Children and pets welcome. The main car park is for residents only; the accommodation is B&B or self-catering. Walking down The Coombes into the heart of the village takes about 15 minutes (700m) downhill.
